Air Travel

We in General Aviation continue to have good flexibility and freedom in out Business and Pleasure Flights. Pre-boarding screening has been limited to Airlines however, airline size equipment, in General Aviation and Charter Service, can expect screening as an established procedure.

Pilot Identification, including Photo ID and Finger print confirmation, may be required at all airports where airline size equipment is operating. In this case, screening may be required of all passengers.

An alternate to this would be to have members of your family, and persons that fly with you regularly, carry Photo ID, Citizenship / Visa confirmation and fingerprint ID.

FAA Regulations - Possible

Certification by Pilot's include Government issued Photo ID to be presented with Pilots Certificate. Fingerprint identification may also be required at some airports.

Be Careful Up There - TFR

Contact Flight Service 1-800-992-7433 and give them your planned route for VFR Flight, and specifically request if there are any TFR's on your route!. Do this regardless of whether or not you file a flight plan.  It can save you a lot of grief!.  When filing IFR, always ask for specific TFR Notams. This puts you on record with FSS, and may legally protect you in case you accidentally violate a TFR.

FAA Circular

Remember, if you see something dangerous, such as weapons or explosives being loaded on an aircraft, or if you believe a serious crime or attack is about to occur, immediately contact your local police or FBI office.   Take the time to get involved !
